Frequently Asked Questions

Can the code be modified for other metrics?

Yes. If you have internal analytic resources, the code can be freely modified. Please share your projects back with us so we can assure other health systems can utilize it.

Is OASIS free?

Yes. In order to assure that OASIS always remains free, we require you to complete a license agreement prior to accessing the code. You can complete the agreement here.

How can I get extra support to use OASIS?

A free user manual is available for Core OASIS projects. You can also find OASIS training videos on YouTube or at the bottom of this page. The OASIS team is not able to provide analytic support for implementation at this time. We encourage users to reach out directly to colleagues at other organizations using OASIS or posting projects for support.

Can OASIS be used for non-electronic health record data?

Yes. The Core programs use electronic health record data; however, you can modify the code to use data from other sources including public health data sets.

Do I need to cite OASIS?

You must cite our paper if you use OASIS. Please use the following citation: OASIS© – a tool for improving the efficiency of outpatient antibiotic stewardship, as further described in: Frost HM et. al. Simplifying outpatient antibiotic stewardship. Infect Control Hosp Epidemiol. 2021 Feb 1:1-2. doi: 10.1017/ice.2020.1409.
